Violence, Hope, and Healing in Los Angeles County

Mission: To share personal stories of violence in a book that is honest but soft, aware of the weight of its stories and welcomes you with a hug. 

Approach: Play with the intensity between bright light and dark shadows using a cold color palette with soft transparent layers. Create a feel of flexible binaries that can be navigated from infinite perspectives. 

Outcome: Layers give a sense of depth and protection, but their transparency give a cautious welcoming. Reflective textures create an illusion of different realities—you can hide in the shadows but be contained, you can feel seen in the light but exposed. 

Impact: With delicacy and compassion, this book holds space for contention while setting survivors safely on the path of healing.
